A MUSE is the BEST

  • AMUSE: COULDN'T DO THIS WITHOUT THEM
Yay! I can finally mention who is our exclusive distributor. A Muse Art Stamps, of course. Chosen for their excellent customer service and first and foremost the gals are just so kind and helpful. Oh, and their products are always top notch too--The note cards and embellishments are so versatile. They can be use with The Saltbox Studio art in "A Muse Style" or in a more vintage "shabby" style for a whole different look. THANK YOU, LINDA

July Preview Day 2

Primsunflwrspost2july Today I bring you a card by Mary Rose. Isn't  it just marvy!  I love how she used a heavier hand on the Primitives word (note the "s") and created a sign from it.  To give it a modern edge, using the brighter orange note card did the trick!  This card was designed using  the new set Simplicity.  Tomorrow you will see the new Farm Friends set in use--

These SUnflowers must be a cross breed!  I've never seen any with red petals!

Only 2 days til' Previews

Hi all.On the 23rd The Saltbox Studio Design Team will begin their previews/sneak peeks.  Becky and Elena are out of town, so, look for their designs a few days later.  Mary Rose, Jennifer, Kelly and Lexi should be right on time!  I really have enjoyed this release. I think because it is so interchangable with the SBS line as well as they stand alone. I would say this release is filled with "classic" images.  There will be a couple contests running on he 28th (Release Day)--

Only at Mo Bot

I have been blessed with actually being one of those people who have travelled to every state in our country (except Hawaii and Alaska which I will do), and I don't mean just drive through, but, truly experience a part of it. Here in St. Louis we haveone of the most exceptional Botanical Gardens in the world. When I need rest, peace, to feel closer to God and His amazing creativity, I go to "Mo Bot". It is here, not only I find those things, but, recall days past of my travels or where I have llived by which part of the Garden" I am immersed in that day. Sometimes I just go to one spot. Yesterday I experienced many-- it is only her I can go from a prairie,to a woodland area with creek and ducks, to grape vines to a rose garden and onto a Japanese rake garden.(just to name a few). I've posted a few phots in two posts right from my iPhone for you to see. The prairie photos are quite moving for me today. For a moment, I thought " Charles and Caroline Wilder" were going to walk by-- LOL

Eye candy coming soon for new release

Fallbaner (©2008 designed by Mary Rose-using our basket and banner sets--here comes that late Summer-Fall feeling)
Our late July Summer release is scheduled  to release the week of the 28th .  Ya hooo!  If you are in the Club your sets will be sent first and then orders will be filled afterwards.   I think you'll really enjoy this release.  It has a lot of what I consider basic folk/primitive/classic images that can be used year  round and with many other The Saltbox Studio designs.    For example, in the Americana set  there is a bunting image.  (The half circle red white and blue hangings people adorn their porches and other areas of their home out doors)--  MAry Rose had the great idea of using it for many things all depending on how you color it in-  SO, it can be Cinco De Mayo, birthdays, just a party in general...

Another image(s) is a Saltbox and Willow  and also a classic tree.  Again, depending on the colors used  you could have a summer, spring, fall or even winter  feel.

Previews from the Design Team and myself will start  the middle of next week.  I will keep you posted here.

Blogging has been difficult for me of late-- I have been gone so much and swamped with transporting kids.  We do not have a thrid car and we do have very busy high schoolers...

I hope everyone is having a lovely Summer.  By the way-- I lived in Kansas for 8 years  the state flower is  a Sunflowers.  I LOVE Sunflowers and it's about time they make a comeback.  Thanks to Linda's suggestion (I was so excited when she brought them up) Sunflowers are back. I have included them in one of the new sets called SImplicity/SImple Summer--

HELP HELP

This is a very important post.  I cannot explain it nearly as well as a shop owner in the industry did.  I have noted her post below as well as the link about the bills and where you can sign the petition.  We must not let these pass, or copyright, and other things for us are compromised and ruined.

PLEASE take time and read this and help all of us!  PLEASE DO ASAP.

There are two bills being reviewed in the House and Senate as you read this. The bill numbers are H.R. 5889 and Senate Bill 2913. The organizations officially opposed to this legislation are the Craft & Hobby Assn., The National NeedleArts Assn., the Society of Decorative Painters, and a wide range of groups representing artists, designers, photographers, illustrators, and cartoonists.

To learn more about the harm the Orphan Works bills would cause our industry, click on this link.

God bless-Beth

As mentioned earlier I said I would post a photo of the "club" stamp.  This one is Sam the Farmer/Gardner mouse.  He is named after Mary Rose's youngest son, Samuel.  For those of you who do not know, if you are a member of the SBS Club you receive an exclusive collector's stamp with each regular release. (Not the "Inbetweens" releases).
If you would like to be a club member, just click the link in the left column and Lexi will get you signed up.

1988 Country Living

We just arrived home from our 4th of July trip. Before I left I came upon two 1988 issues of Country Living magazine. One was the 10th anniversary issue. The other the month of March. I have loved looking through these. The mag was still actually Country Living. I stopped reading it when it became all trends like any other home mag. Mary Rose tells me it is getting better again. It was nice to leaf through the past. One of my favourite columns was Real Estate Sampler. I loved seeing all the homes available throughout America and imagine myself living in them. The odd part of the magazine---all the cigarette ads with women dressed like they were on the tv show Dynasty! Our next release is scheduled for the last week of July. It includes: -Americana -Simple Summer -Saltbox Greetings -Summer Banner -Farm Friends I will post the Club Stamp later today. I am on my iPhone because our internet is down and do not have a photo. Blessings to you.
